Commercial terms

Plain terms before purchase

Finlay.works keeps BareBones Ticketing and related service management work narrow, written, and practical. This page explains the current refund, cancellation, billing, and support posture in plain language.

At a glance

Firm enough to operate, fair enough to trust

The goal is to describe the offer clearly before purchase, avoid surprise commitments, and handle real problems in good faith without promising automatic refunds.

Refund posture

Good-faith review

Paid licenses and services are generally not automatically refundable after fulfillment or work begins. Refunds, credits, replacement access, or other remedies are reviewed at Finlay.works discretion.

Billing posture

Stripe-hosted payment

Finlay.works does not collect or store card numbers. Paid license fulfillment depends on verified Stripe payment evidence, not just a browser return from Checkout.

Support posture

Help in writing

Support and service work are handled in writing. Free Edition is self-support only. Paid support boundaries depend on the active license or written scope.

Refunds and remedies

Not automatic, not careless

Finlay.works does its best to describe BareBones Ticketing licenses and services plainly before purchase. If something goes wrong, contact Finlay.works in writing. The situation will be reviewed in good faith.

Depending on the facts, Finlay.works may correct the issue, restore access, provide replacement access, issue a credit, cancel renewal, or provide a refund at its discretion.

This posture does not limit any non-waivable rights that apply by law or any stronger written commitment that Finlay.works separately approves for a specific transaction.

What this means
  • No promise of automatic refunds after license fulfillment.
  • No promise of automatic refunds after service work begins.
  • Duplicate charges, clear website processing errors, or Finlay.works failure to provide purchased access receive priority review.
  • If Finlay.works cannot provide the purchased access after a reasonable cure effort, a refund, credit, or replacement remedy may be appropriate.

BareBones licenses

License boundaries by path

Each launch path has a different support, payment, and renewal posture.

Trial

A Trial key is a no-card evaluation path. It is time-limited and does not create a paid support or refund obligation.

Free Edition

Free Edition is self-support only. It does not include SLA, support, guarantees, migration help, or a validation package.

Professional annual

Professional is annual paid licensing. Paid keys issue after verified payment. The current paid term is generally not automatically refundable after fulfillment, and end-of-term cancellation is handled through the Stripe billing portal.

Worker additions

Additional Professional workers increase the existing paid worker pool after Stripe confirms the paid invoice. Once fulfilled, worker additions are generally not automatically refundable except for reviewed errors, duplicate charges, or failure to provide the purchased access.

Lifetime License

Lifetime License is a limited one-time purchase path under approved Lifetime terms. After verified payment and fulfillment, refunds are discretionary and require owner review unless a non-waivable legal right applies.

Separate written terms

If a signed agreement, written quote, or owner-approved product artifact states different terms for a specific transaction, that written record controls for that transaction.

Billing and cancellation
  • Paid checkout uses Stripe-hosted payment pages.
  • Paid keys appear only after verified payment fulfillment.
  • The Stripe billing portal is used for invoices, receipts, billing details, and end-of-current-term cancellation.
  • Cancellation stops future renewal or ends access according to the current license state; it does not automatically refund the current paid term.
  • Self-service paid subscription downgrades are not part of the current BareBones Professional launch path.
Services and implementation work
  • Service work starts from written scope, estimate, and approval.
  • Work already performed is generally not refundable.
  • Unused prepaid scope may be credited, re-scoped, or refunded at Finlay.works discretion.
  • Out-of-scope work is reviewed and re-scoped before it proceeds.
  • Finlay.works is not offering emergency incident response, managed security operations, routine server-room work, or open-ended managed services.

Support

Clear support boundaries

Support happens in writing and is tied to the active product path or approved service scope. Support exists to help with BareBones Ticketing licensing, product use, setup questions, and scoped service management work.

Do not send passwords, tokens, card data, full license keys, private keys, session cookies, or sensitive logs by email.

When asking for help
  • Use the same email address associated with the customer account when possible.
  • Describe the license path, account action, or service management problem.
  • Include screenshots only after removing secrets and confidential customer details.
  • Use the customer area, support portal, or written contact path that applies to the active license.

Questions

Ask before purchase if a boundary matters

If refund, support, procurement, or license terms are material to your decision, ask before purchase so the answer can be written down plainly. Published license examples are on the BareBones pricing examples section, vendor onboarding details are summarized on the vendor and procurement page, and launch-day help paths are summarized on the support routes page.
